Bad Dog Terms of Service
Refusal of Service
Bad Dog reserves the right to deny any customer service for reasons to be determined by Bad Dog. This includes if the client is rude, threatening or otherwise unreasonable.
Harassment, determined by Bad Dog, is not tolerated in any way. Should the client display harassment of any sort, Bad Dog reserves the right to cancel the project.
Additionally, Bad Dog reserves the right to blacklisting clients. Being blacklisted is defined in this document as the barring from any further services.
Warranty and Prices:
Any price quotes are subject to change. Bad Dog reserves the right to deny service to anyone (before and after accepting commission). All work is guaranteed for 90 days upon day of item received. Any unauthorized alteration not made by Bad Dog voids the warranty. Warranty covers defects of material and construction. Normal wear and tear (wear and tear to be determined by Bad Dog) is not covered by the warranty.
Payments:
Bad Dog DOES take payment plans at this point in time. However, in order to secure the commission, Bad Dog requires a 30% non-refundable down payment. Final payments must be received BEFORE construction can begin. The client is guaranteed security through PayPal's good's and services system. Late payment will result in a later completion, ship date or even a cancelled commission. Cashapp and zelle are also acceptable forms of payment. Bad Dog is not responsible for lost or late payments. Shipping, once again, is not included in the price of the fursuit. When sending in the payment, please be sure to write who you are and who the suit is, otherwise Bad Dog cannot guarantee receipt of payment.
Should the suit be paid in one payment, no fee will be applied. However, should the fursuit be paid in three or more payments over a timespan of more than two weeks, a 3% fee will be applied. For further information, please refer to the payment plan section of the TOS
Payment Plans:
Payment plans can be more individualized, however, please note the longer the payment plan is spread out over, the larger the fee will be. Overall, larger payments and less frequent are preferred. The usual norm is payment once per month. However, it is acceptable should the final payment be ready before the monthly payment date to be sent such that the suit may be started on a sooner date.
Once a monthly date is agreed upon, payment plans may begin. As mentioned before, a 30% non refundable deposit is required. With each monthly date, there is a 5 day grace period. Should payment not be received on the 5th day, a $30 late charge will be required with each additional day the payment already due. If the late fee is not included, the payment will be refunded and will not be shipped until the late fee is included.
Monthly plans should not exceed 2 months for a head, 3 months for a partial, 6 months for a fullsuit. It is preferred that payment is sent in the least amount of time as possible.
Delays on set payments will result in a 5% fee for each additional day missed on the agreed upon payment date.
Completion dates:
Bad Dog strictly does not take deadlines of any sort. It is possible to ask about having the suit completed by a certain date, however, Bad Dog is not oblidged to meet this time span. It is possible to work around this deadline for an additional 50% of the cost of the suit should it be within reason.
Refunds & Returns:
The first 30% of the total commission price, not what has been paid up until the point of cancellation, is non-refundable along with any fees due to late payments. Refunds may not be instantaneous upon request and is dealt with on case by case bases. Once a suit is 100% paid for, a refund will not be issued. We do not accept returns.
If payments cease and contact cannot be established, your commission will be terminated, a refund will not be issued of any kind and you are no longer entitled to the commissioned suit or materials.
Duct Tape Dummy Requirements and Tutorials:
All Full suit Commissions must send in a duct tape dummy and a pair of shoes (can be as basic as flip flops) To see how a duct tape dummy is built, please refer to the link below. (Note: This link was not made by Bad Dog):
http://www.plus3defense.com/how-to-make-a-dtd
Please note that duct tape dummies must be built as durably as possible. The best way to achieve this is to layer it a minimum of three times. Bad Dog is not responsible for duct tape dummies falling apart. Should the DTD fall apart during the construction process as a result of poor duct tape dummy construction, it is the client’s responsibility to redo it. Should the DTD be made improperly and the suit not fit as a result , the client must pay for any repairs and adjustments needed, in addition to shipping a new DTD to ensure a fit on the client. It is in the client’s best interest to ensure the DTD is made properly and durably as a result.
Keep in mind that DTD's MUST be taped back together, NEATLY, and without over lapping the edges before being shipped! Tape over seams vertically across in layers, NOT longways. If a DTD arrives that has not been taped together or has been taped back together weakly (as in it will break apart when stuffed) A $50 service fee will be charged due to the additional labor required.
*The best material for the base of a duct tape dummy would be a painters suit similar to the one in the link below* https://www.coverallsdirect.net/duponttm-tyvekr-coveralls-ty120.html These can be found at any Home Depot or Lowes. DO NOT use coveralls with elastic in the ankles and wrists.
*The DTD is REQUIRED to go down over your heels at the bare minimum. The entire foot is preferred.
*When make your DTD, keep your arms at as straight as possible. Failure to do so will severely limit movement in the arms.
*Tape as close to your arm pit as possible. Not doing so will result in lower mobility of your arms. Bad Dog WILL NOT be responsible for ill fitting suits due to poor DTD construction.
*DTD's must meet these standards to be used. If it does not, it will either need to be repaired or be thrown out and it will be required to make a new one. If Bad Dog has to repair the DTD there will be a service fee. Bad Dog is not willing to put time and client funding knowingly into working off of a DTD that very well may not fit due to the inadequacies of poor construction, which even if it is repaired, will fail to serve its purpose of ensuring the suit fits.
Age:
All clients must be at least 18 years of age before sending any payments. If under 18, a parent or guardian must make the initial payments. All clients must be over the age of 16. Please consult your doctor to ensure that you are no longer growing should you wish to commission a full suit. Bad Dog is not liable for suits no longer fitting due to the owner growing out of their suit, and refuses to make accommodations should the client still be growing - everyone is different and Bad Dog cannot predict how one may grow.
If the age written in the commission form is not correspondent to the client's actual age, Bad Dog reserves the right to cancel the commission WITHOUT REFUND and blacklist the client. Background checks will be done to confirm the client's age. In some cases, ID may be requested.
Last minute changes:
We ask that you do not make any changes to the costume once the price and completion date are set. Any changes made after can cause the price or completion date to change. We will work with you to cover any details before the commission is accepted. Please do not hesitate to ask about changes, as some minor changes will not affect the price or completion time. Changes that will effect price and completion times include, but are not limited to: added colors, added markings, special requests, and anything that requires new materials to be ordered.
Work in progress photos and updates:
Work in progress updates and photos will be sent via contact method of choice.
Shipping:
Shipping is NOT included in the price for any suit work. This includes commissions, refurbishments or repairs. We usually ship with USPS, but should another carrier be required, please let us know. Insurance is NOT standard on shipping. Should it be required, it is the clients responsibility to make it known. Insurance will add extra cost to shipping. Bad Dog is not responsible for lost packages. At this time, we DO ship internationally.
Shipping within the United States usually costs around $30-$200. We cannot determine the cost of shipping until the suit is complete. Shipping is not an optional charge, the suit will not be sent until shipping rates are paid for.
Concept art:
It is required that a colored concept is provided by the commissioner prior to sending in a form. Bad Dog is not responsible for including anything that is not present on the agreed concept art. If something additional not on the ref is requested, it is the client’s responsibility to add it onto the reference image(s).
Additional information:
It is the responsibility of the client to pay close attention to progress shots to ensure you get what you want. If something needs to be changed, it is required that it is mentioned as such IMMEDIATELY. If it could have been changed at an earlier stage shown in the progress pictures sent and did not mention disliking of any aspect and voice it later when the project is further along and harder to fix, this will take more time and labor. This will result in additional fees. The client must make issues with accuracy known at the earliest practicable opportunity
Additionally, if you do not like a certain aspect of your suit, do not tell us “it looks great, I love it” or any variation that could lead us to believe otherwise. We welcome criticism and realize fursuits are large investments and you should get exactly what you pay for. Please do not try to spare our feelings if you do not like something we are doing. We try to be very accommodating and will not “dislike you for being picky”. You deserve to be picky!
Please note that Bad Dog does not make suits based off of other fursuit maker’s style. Additionally, Bad Dog refuses to make copyrighted characters as it is illegal.
